Fern Gaming is an entertainment-only social casino. Our games use virtual coins/credits and do not offer cash-out or prizes of monetary value. Even so, access is restricted to adults.

1) Minimum age (New Zealand)

You must be 18 years or older to access or use Fern Gaming from New Zealand. If any applicable law requires a higher age for participation in gambling-like services in your circumstances, you must meet that higher age.

2) How our age gate works

  • Self-declaration: during registration and/or first entry, you are asked to confirm your date of birth and that you are at least 18.
  • Re-confirmation: we may re-display age prompts after sign-out, on new devices, or if we detect signals suggesting the account may belong to a minor.
  • Access control: if an entered date of birth indicates you are under 18, we block account creation and/or access.

3) Additional age checks

To help prevent underage use and fraud, we may perform additional checks (risk-based), including:

  • using reputable verification services to validate age/identity information;
  • reviewing account activity or device/network signals for consistency with adult use.

If you do not provide requested information, we may restrict features, suspend, or close the account.

4) If a user is underage

  • we will deny access and/or suspend the account;
  • we may remove associated profile data and disable communications;
  • if purchases were made, we will assess refunds/chargebacks in line with our applicable terms and consumer obligations, and may require verification to process a refund safely.

5) Data handling for age verification

  • Data minimisation: we only collect what is reasonably necessary to confirm age and protect the service.
  • Use limitation: age-verification data is used to determine eligibility, prevent misuse, and meet legal/compliance needs; it is not used to market to minors.
  • Security: we apply administrative, technical, and organisational safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the data.
  • Retention: we retain age-verification records only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required/allowed by law, then delete or de-identify where appropriate.

6) No targeting or marketing to minors

  • We do not design, position, or advertise Fern Gaming for people under 18.
  • We avoid youth-oriented imagery, language, or placements and use age targeting where available for ads and influencer campaigns.
  • If we learn an account belongs to a minor, we stop marketing communications to that account.
